Focus: Motion offense intro, off-ball movement, 2-slide defensive rotations

0:00–0:08 | Ladder Agility Warm-Up (no Stick) 

  1. Two foot forwards: 2 feet in each square moving forward → sprint out 5 yds.

  2. Ickey Shuffle – 2 feet in, 1 foot out, quick lateral steps → sprint out 5 yds.

  3. Lateral In/Out – 2 feet in, 2 feet out, lateral steps

0:08–0:16 | 2 Cone Throwback Drills (4 min per drill - 2 min per Left & Right Hands ) 3-4 players at station

  • Step Back: Player 1 runs to cone 1 → Cuts hard to their right, steps back, turns to the inside → Throws back to Player in line

  • Roll away: Player 1 runs to cone 1 → Punches stick to outside and follows stick → Turns and throws back to Player in line

0:18–0:28 | Competitive Small-Sided Game – 4v4 Half-Field

  • Setup: Half field, 4v4 + goalie.

  • Rules: Must make 3 passes before a shot. Turnovers = immediate change.

  • Coaching Points: Create spacing, cut after pass, communicate on D.

  • Why: High reps, quick decisions, real game pace.

0:28–0:38 | Position-Specific (Live)

  • Attack: X feed to wing → wing feed to crease; D plays at 50% to contest passes.

  • Midfield: Dodge → draw slide → pop pass to adjacent; middie rotates to next cone.

  • Defense: Approach → body/hip angle control → recover; finish with light stick check.

  • Goalie: Save → outlet to breaking middie under pressure from coach.

0:38–0:48 | Teach Motion Offense (Simple Version)

  • Spacing: 2–3–1 setup.

  • Motion Rules: Pass & cut through crease; backside fill open spot.

  • Walk through → jog → live 6v6 reps vs. skeleton D.

0:48–0:58 | Mini-Play – Wing Dodge to Skip Pass

  • Wing dodges alley → defense slides → skip pass to opposite wing for shot.

  • Reps: 5 each side live with D.

  • Coaching Points: Dodge with purpose, sell shot to freeze slide, quick release on skip catch.

0:58–1:08 | Defensive Rotation Drill – 2-Slide Reads

  • 5v4 setup. Ball moves → “hot” slide to ball → second slide covers crease → recovery on pass out.

  • Run both sides evenly.

1:08–1:18 | Transition Game – 5v4 Continuous Breaks

  • Ball starts with goalie → clears to middie → 5v4 attack.

  • Miss/turnover → defense breaks out as new O.

  • Coaching Points: Quick outlets, find point man, one more pass before shot.

1:18–1:25 | RST Conditioning – 10 × 20-Yard Sprints

  • Sprint 20 yds all-out → walk back (~20s) → repeat.

  • All players start on whistle.

1:25–1:30 | Wrap & Team Huddle

  • Review: 2 keys for motion offense, 1 key for 2-slide defense.

Focus: Multiple dodge reads, backside scoring options, man-down rotations

0:00–0:08 | Cone Agility Box Drill

  1. Square Drill: 4 Cone 5 yards apart. Starting at cone 1 → Sprint to the cone 2 → Shuffle to the cone 3 → Backpedal to the cone 4 → Shuffle to cone 1.

  2. X Drill: 4 Cone 5 yards apart. Starting at cone 1 → crossover to cone 3 → shuffle to cone 2 → back reverse crossover to cone 4 → Shuffle to cone 1.

  3. L Drill: 3 Cones 5 yards apart. Starting at cone 1 → Sprint to cone 2 → Sprint back to cone 1 → Sprint around cone 2 → Loop around cone 3 → Sprint back around cone 2 and back to cone 1

0:08–0:16 | 2 Cone Throwback Drills (4 min per drill - 2 min per Left & Right Hands ) 3-4 players at station

  • Split Back: Player 1 runs to cone 1 → Punches stick to outside and follows stick → Switches stick to opposite hand and runs back to cone 1 while throwing to Player in line

  • Split Roll: Player 1 split doges running to cone 1  → Punches stick to outside and follows stick

0:18–0:28 | Competitive Small-Sided Game – 3v3 Continuous

  • Setup: 3v3 + goalie, half-field.

  • Rules: After shot, goalie outlets to new 3 who replace offense immediately; original offense becomes defense.

  • Why: Continuous play builds quick transition reads and conditioning.

  • Coaching Points: Communicate switches on D, attack space on O.

0:28–0:38 | Position-Specific

  • Attack: X dodge → read crease cut or backside wing feed; defender plays live at 50%.

  • Midfield: Sweep dodge from top → if slide, feed opposite; if no slide, shoot; if hot call late, bounce pass to crease.

  • Defense: 1v1 from wing → force to alley → recover to crease help.

  • Goalie: Save → long outlet pass to far wing under light pressure.

0:38–0:48 | Offense Install – “Backside Hammer”

  • Ball starts top left → wing carry to X → skip to opposite wing → feed crease or hammer shot from top.

  • Walk through jog live vs. defenders.

  • Coaching Points: Keep stick to outside on feeds, hammer = time & room shot.

0:48–0:58 | Man-Down Defense – Box + 1

  • 4-man box, 1 hot crease defender.

  • Work ball around perimeter (O) → D closes out with sticks high.

  • Emphasize quick recovery & communication: “Rotate!” “I’ve got crease!”

  • Rotate defenders every rep.

0:58–1:08 | Mini-Play – Dodge to Inside Flip

  • Ball starts with wing dodger → draws D → flips ball inside to cutting middie.

  • Live D after 3 reps each side.

  • Focus: deception, quick release inside.

1:08–1:18 | Transition Game – 4v3 to 3v2

  • Coach rolls GB to 4v3 offense → play to shot → immediately reset to 3v2 in opposite direction with ball ready.

  • Quick turnaround teaches reloading fast in games.

1:18–1:25 | RST Conditioning – 10 × 20-Yard Sprints

  • Sprint 20 yds all-out → walk back (~20s) → repeat.

  • Keep groups tight for pace.

1:25–1:30 | Wrap & Team Huddle

  • Review: 1 key for backside scoring, 1 key for man-down communication.
